This hotel is only. 5 minute walk from the main city centre, it has great keen appeal however the room we had (room 9) could have done with a deep clean. Shaving mirror had rust, extractor fan was filthy and bath had a few chips in it. Large mirror in room was opposite a power point so my wife wouldn’t see herself in mirror whilst straightening her hair. Overall this wasn’t the best experience. If the room was clean and better designed then I rooms have no hesitation returning however I’m afraid I can’t recommend this hotel.

Really fun and friendly staff who were very helpful checking our group in, team were happy to guide us around Edinburgh and even kept our luggage as we checked out and had one last walk around the city!

Great location for shopping and theatre. Close to centre but still quiet and peaceful. Staff very friendly and welcoming. Rooms have everything you need and beds were comfortable. Breakfast was lovely- good quality ingredients. Would recommend.

The hotel is in a somewhat good location, right next to Calton hill and in a safe area. The rooms are very large with an extraordinary view onto a gorgeous garden restaurant and the bed were very comfortable but the hotel is very very old. The paint is falling off the walls and the wooden doors are just barely getting by. The carpet floor was clearly added on top of hardwood floors that keep squeaking every time they’re stepped on and the sound insulation is almost non existent, it’s like all the guests are in one big room. Nonetheless, the staff is very nice, helpful and welcoming.

All I can say is that it was amazing, the staff were lovely, food was good and got too good of sleep that I ended up missing my first morning breakfast as I had somewhere to be and slept in.

I was quite surprised to be given such a tiny room at an IHG Hotel, especially as a member. I wasn’t expecting a luxurious suite, but having enough space to walk past the bed without squeezing sideways would have been a reasonable expectation.
Additionally, there was no parking available.
To make matters worse, when I went down for breakfast, I was initially told I wasn’t entitled to it—despite my booking. While they eventually allowed me to have breakfast, the situation was quite embarrassing.
I had originally booked for two nights but decided not to stay for the second night.
